Things To Do in Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
This exhibit encourages visitors to discover the wonder of trees. By exploring through "sensation stations", kids can learn about nature by crawling through a giant log, listening to birds and animals that live inside trees, perching in a larger than life birds nest, and fly through the forest by embodying a forest animal through blue-screen technology. The exhibit runs October 23, 2010 through February 6, 2011.
Rediscovered plate images from Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago Archives paint a picture of turn of the century Chicago area and Illinois landscapes. Author Richard Cahan displays these images to show how waterways and open lands evolved into the urban landscape known today. The exhibit runs September 30, 2010 through March 13, 2011.
