The Chicago's Children Museum is a not-for-profit institution built to help kids play, learn, explore and connect to the community around us. The musuem was founded in 1982 by a coalition led by The Junior League of Chicago in order to offer kids programs that were being cut from public schools. The museum includes exhibits where kids can climb through trees, run a fire truck, run a market and live in nature. The museum has been in it's current location at Navy Pier since 1995.

Permanent Exhibits

The Allstate Foundation Presents Play It Safe - Kids can become a real fire person by completing the command center, exiting the "Get Low and Go" bedroom, run a firetruck and learn about fire safety.

Kraft Artabounds Studio & Gallery - Families can create collaborative art and showcase it in the musuem's walk-through gallery.

BIG Backyard - Explore nature by traipsing through the museum's BIG Backyard. The exhibit includes giant toadstools and flowers, enormous flowers and logs to climb in and on and blue-screen technology that allows kids to play in the rain.

Mexico: Festival of Toys

Come play with a collection of over 600 one of a kind Mexican toys at Chicago's Children Museum. • A Wheel Track to test the speed of toys that go!
  • Small Worlds, a dynamic landscape for creating and decorating miniature dwellings.
  • A Puppet Theater, where kids can design their own puppets and put on a show.
