Barack Obama's House
Back
Before Barack Obama moved to The White House with his fam, they lived in this beautiful brick Kenwood home. (Occasionally they still return home). Want to picture what his life was like before becoming the Prez? Head to the South Side and visit the beautiful Chicago Hyde Park area. Secret service won’t let you drive up to his house or park on the street anymore, but you can walk around the neighborhood. (5000 Block of South Greenwood Avenue) Your second option is visiting the miniature replica of his house at The Chicago Botanical Gardens “Wonderland Express.” The front of the home is layered with white pine bark and catalpa beans. According to ABCnews.com, Wonderland Express is open Nov. 27-Jan. 3, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., (closing at 3 p.m. on Dec. 3 and Dec. 24, and closed all day Dec. 25). Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children 3-12, and free on Tuesdays through Dec. 23.
