Welcome to the Chicago.com Chicago Shopping Guide! While Chicago may be second in size to other U.S. cities, there is no question that it is now first in fashion. With so many shops, department stores and boutiques to choose from, this city should really be called “Chícago”. For those of you familiar with shopping in Chicago, you are already fully aware of the dizzying array of things to buy, sample and experience. We will continuously update our site with the hottest new stores and shopping events, so check back often. If you are a newbie to the Chicago Shopping Scene, then warm-up that credit card and grab your walking shoes because there is a lot of ground to cover!

If you are visiting Chicago, you probably have Michigan Avenue and State Street on your list as must-shop destinations. As Chicago’s hub for large retailers, department stores and luxury labels, it is possible to find everything from furniture to furriers, children’s clothing to baseball caps, electronics to earmuffs, leather pants to popcorn and everything in-between.

However, if you are inclined to explore and travel to other parts of the city to find your heart’s desire, you will be richly rewarded for your efforts. Chicago’s world-reknown neighborhoods such as Bucktown, Wicker Park and Lincoln Park host some of the finest shopping in the world. These mostly smaller boutiques carry both up-and-coming and established designers, handcrafted jewelry, sought-after cosmetics and toiletries, rare art and antiques, gourmet edibles and custom anything you can imagine. While some of these delightful shops may be small on scale, they are all big in attitude. Personally, I can’t help but want to buy almost everything.
