Searching for the perfect gift for a baby shower? Twinkle Twinkle Little One is THE store for all things baby gear and baby room. Rachel Glasson, the owner, is committed to furnishing Chicagoland nurseries with unique and custom creations. And, as someone who uses her grass and marigold Serena & Lily Sling and large Wagamama Floor Mat every day, I know a good baby boutique when I see one.
Is your man wearing the same 80’s frat t-shirt and high-waisted jeans? Are you positive once you whip off those baggy Khaki pants and braided belt, there’s an undeniably handsome hunk underneath? Well, some men need a little help, and we have it in Chicago. Jake’s on Rush Street features emerging and established designers. Shoe addicts will appreciate their awesome collection of footwear. There are two locations: Gold Coast and Southport. Take him immediately (and shop for yourself too). Jake, 939 N. Rush Street
Lori's - The Sole of Chicago. If shoes capture your soul, this store is the sole place to shop. Forget about flying to Milan--head to Lori’s for the greatest selection of Italian shoes. They have one at Halsted/Armitage. They have the latest in spring must-haves shoes, like wedges and light boots. They also have fabulous neutral and nude purses. And of course, we love slipping our tootsies into gorgeous sandals with embellishments. (Thanks Amanda Beaumont for the tip)!
We love Old Town. It’s charming with a great neighborhood feel. Plus, Handle With Care is there. This is a great stop for locals and out-of-towners. Whether you are looking for a sequin dress by Trina Turk or a plain white Michael Star tank top for the summer, the staff will be glad to dress you from head to toe. (Thanks Heather Sher for the tip)!
Just because you live in the’ burbs, doesn’t mean you need to wear pleated jeans and a blouse. Cusp at Northbrook Court will keep all you North Shore ladies in style. We like their Diane von Furstenberg’s Egyptian Tattoo Beach tote for the summer. It’s almost too cute to get sandy.
