Pullman

Pullman, a neighborhood of more than 2,000, has a good mix of ethnicities and economic backgrounds, as well as a large gay population. This well-integrated area features plenty of commercial business and a good number of strong schools. Homes in the area range from $65,000 to about $200,000, with many properties selling in the low to mid $100,000s. Many homes have historic standing, but are not necessarily in the best shape.
Named after the inventor of the sleeping railcar, Pullman’s rich history is detailed at the Victorian Hotel Florence, which is a restaurant on its first floor and houses Pullman’s private suite on the second floor.
Pullman is bounded by 111th, 115th the Dan Ryan Expressway and the Chicago Central and Pacific train tracks. The Dan Ryan is conveniently located close to the neighborhood.
