Edgebrook is found in the northwest suburb of Forest Glen. It is home to the lovely Cook County Forest Preserve and the Edgebrook Golf Course. It is also surrounded by Albany Park, Jefferson Park, North Park and Portage Park. It is no surprise that Edgebrook has one of the highest median incomes in Chicago, as all of the open space means higher than average property values. Properties in Edgebrook run from about the mid $300,000’s up to $5,000,000. This is definitely an affluent neighborhood. There are many housing options, ranging from new constructions to lovingly preserved older homes. Most structures are single-family with a sprinkling of apartments. Starter homes can be found, as well some of the city’s most beautiful mansions.

Edgebrook is near the neighborhoods of Wildwood and Sauganash, also well-maintained affluent areas. There are several open parks and fields in the area giving this urban area a most rural feel. Residents are friendly, civic-minded and welcoming. In fact, this is where several Chicago city employees, such as police and firemen, make their homes.

Portage Park features basketball and tennis courts, ball fields, playgrounds, swimming, walking trails, field houses and also hosts several youth programs for the neighborhood children. The Citywide Orchestra plays in Jefferson Park. It is a volunteer orchestra and they also offer music lessons in the park’s field house.

The Edens Expressway runs nearby Edgebrook.
