Cottage Grove Heights is located in the larger Pullman neighborhood. All of the original homes that were built by the Pullman Company are still standing today. There are many nice older homes in the area, but they mostly need major renovations. There is little commercial presence in Cottage Grove Heights, but several shopping centers are near-by. Cottage Grove Heights is also home to a healthy gay community. A home in Cottage Grove Heights will cost between $46,000 and over $200,000. Chicago State University is in the area.

Marquette Park sits between 67^th and 71^st Streets and is home to the city’s Lithuanian community as well as a large African American community. The neighborhood’s namesake Marquette Park covers over 300 acres. It features several picnic shelters, walking and bike paths, a nursery, track, lagoon, horseshoe pits, theatre, ice rink, playgrounds, ball fields and even a golf course.

The Dan Ryan runs through the neighborhood.
