Canaryville is a small Chicago neighborhood next to the old Stockyards on the south side. Bounded by Halsted, Canal, 39th & 49th, it has been a part of Chicago since 1889, when it was annexed from the Township of Lake. The origins of it's name appear to be a complete mystery, although theories abound.

Fuller Park is a very small Chicago neighborhood of fewer than 4,000 people, reaching only four blocks between the Metra and Conrail tracks; Halsted on the west and Canal on the east. Once significantly larger, the neighborhood was heavily affected by the construction of the Dan Ryan Expressway. After many years of recovery, Fuller Park is on the upswing, with vacant lots being renovated into usable areas for businesses and homes and a strong sense of community responsibility among its residents.

The Fuller Park Fieldhouse assists in this sense of community. Boasting three gyms and an auditorium, the Fieldhouse provides a variety of recreational and educational services and benefits.
