Calumet Heights
Calumet Heights is located on Chicago’s far southeast side.It is a predominantly African-American neighborhood.Before it was developed, Calumet Heights was swampland, but now the area is filled with bungalows, split-levels, town homes, ranches and condos.Home prices range from $48,000 to $200,000 with some newer homes selling for as much as $280,000.
There are several shops in the area, extending into South Chicago and Avalon Park.Owens Park is in the neighborhood.It contains trails and several ball fields within its 17 acres.Trinity Hospital is also in the area.
