About Us

Welcome to Chicago.com’s all new “Things To Do” engine. We are a team of Chicago software developers who are creating the most technologically advanced search engine for events and stuff to do in Chicago. We know firsthand what an incredible city Chicago is, how many amazing things are constantly going on here, and how frustrating it is to find and keep track of it all...but Things To Do makes it easy.

Our Story

Tech startup veterans Josh Metnick and Cedric Hurst met while serving on the board of the Awesome Foundation, supporting other Chicagoans working to improve our community. While talking about their beloved Chicago, they recognized the need for a better of way of figuring out what was happening in the city and when it was happening. Cedric and Josh decided to create a solution -- at first just for their personal use, but they quickly realized that aggregating the information was extremely valuable and that all Chicagoans and visitors to Chicago could benefit from the product. They recruited a select group of developers with a passion for event-related information, and our Chicago Things To Do platform launched on December 27, 2012.

She holds a master's degree in Language and Literacy from Harvard University which has been gathering dust in its frame for the last few years while she's been making mac n' cheese and searching for perfect activities to do with kids in the city.
